Helmut Kiene (* June 13, 1952 in Nördlingen) is a German physician, scientist and anthroposophist. He heads the Institute for Applied Epistemology and Medical Methodology, which he co-founded, at the University of Witten/Herdecke.[1] He has written numerous papers on basic scientific questions in medicine, advocating a pluralism of methods for medical research that should also do justice to complementary medical directions. In the 1970s he was a sport climber.
