Medical pluralism (or pluralism in medicine) describes a pluralism, the existence of different currents in medicine. Their perspectives, theories, paradigms, methods and concepts of science can differ, resulting in a pluralism of perspectives, theories, paradigms, methods or science. The German "Dialogforum Pluralismus in der Medizin" (Pluralism in Medicine Dialogue Forum) was dedicated to this topic, and the German Society for Plurality in Healthcare is active in this field.

One german doctor who strongly advocated medical pluralism was Peter Matthiessen, who worked and published on this topic in the area of methodological pluralism in medicine at Witten/Herdecke University.[1]
