The Witten Colloquia for Humanism, Medicine and Philosophy are held annually at Witten/Herdecke University. They are dedicated to the interdisciplinary discussion of socially relevant basic questions of the human in the context of current development trends. The organizer is the Gerhard Kienle Chair of Medical Theory, Integrative and Anthroposophical Medicine at Witten/Herdecke University. Volumes with the contributions to each of the colloquia were published.

History

The Witten Colloquia were initiated in 2012 by Peter Heusser in order to raise awareness of socially relevant fundamental questions and current topics of the "human" in an interdisciplinary context, both scientifically and publicly. As of 2019, Silke Schwarz and David Martin have taken over the organization and management of the Witten Colloquia, and have set up an online platform for them.
