Unconventional medicine relates to its opposite conventional medicine. A practical definition has been "medical interventions not taught widely at U.S. medical schools or generally available at U.S. hospitals." Synonyms or related terms are alternative medicine, complementary medicine, unorthodox medicine, CAM, CIM or integrative medicine.
